HPLC Degasser

Degasification is the removal of dissolved gases from liquids, especially water or aqueous solutions. Chemists remove gases from solvents when the compounds they are working on are possibly air- or oxygen-sensitive. Using a Degasser (degassing solvents in the mobile phase) in HPLC is essential for proper operation and retrieving data that is uniform. If there are air bubbles in the solvents that are being pumped, you can have fluctuating pressure, improper leaks and detection, and even clogging of the HPLC column. Degassing will remove unwanted trapped air and other gasses from the solvents without changing the volume or the properties of the solvent.

Degasser Manufacturers

Some popular manufacturers of degassers are Hewlett Packard, Alltech, Perkin Elmer, and Waters Corporation.
